Debating human-centered design
Learning points
Designing from a more-than-human perspective was something new for me. Regarding the direction the world is going, it is important to take more into consideration than just the end-user when designing. This is something that I learned during this project.

Over the years, the population became less happy [1]. Showing the strongest decline in
happiness, 81% of the population aged 18 to 24 answered to be happy in 2021. This was still 91% in 1997. Also, the overall average is currently between 80% and 90%.
A scenario where asking if someone is doing good is actually already unnecessary as people will answer they are good anyways. In this case, we wanted to portray ourselves as representing society and the prototype as a product we sell to ensure that people will stay happy. Our concept consisted of a machine that would grab your hand until you confirmed the fact that it has made you happier. We considered that this machine would represent society and the pressure that it, as a non-human entity puts on you to act happy no matter if that is true or not. Using technology with the mission to make people “happy”.
